Danity Kane: ‘Bye Baby,’ Reunited Group Releases Comeback Song (Audio)

Danity Kane is back! They have released their first new song in years, and it’s causing quite a stir as it gets rave reviews. Listen to it and find out what all the buzz is about!

It’s been a long and winding and drama-filled reality-TV journey for Danity Kane, which got their start on Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ ‘Making the Band 3′ on MTV almost a decade ago. Yet they leaped successfully from the constrictions — and perhaps lowered expectations — of reality television to release a few international hits and to make Billboard history as the first girl group to debut two consecutive albums on the Billboard 200. But there was the breakup some five years ago — played out as was their formation on reality TV.

But they are back, minus one member, D. Woods (a.k.a. Wanita Woodgette) good to their word, as announced at the MTV VMAs last August. The reunited group is whittled down to a quartet — Aubrey O’Day, Aundrea Fimbres, Shannon Bex and Dawn Richard — and recently walked the red carpet together at the American Music Awards.

The reunion, of course, has not been without drama, as the recent Twitter war between D. Woods and Aubrey O’Day reveals, but drama or not, the group has forged ahead.

With all preliminaries out of the way, they have just put out a new song, telling us they are now officially back and not mere subjects of speculation and gossip and targets for paparazzi.

‘Bye Baby’ is instantly catchy and radio friendly. No doubt it will easily lend itself to remixes and full-fledged EDM revamping and as such could become, as such, a club hit. Be warned though, the hook is quite an earworm — “Baby don’t cry cry baby / Now goodbye bye baby” — guaranteed to knock out any earworms you might already be plagued with.

As for the future, Danity Kane is reportedly working with a variety of hitmaker producers including Timbaland, Da Internz & The Stereotypes and Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins among others. As of yet, neither a record deal nor an album have been announced. But in the meantime, we do have ‘Bye Baby’ which you can hear below!
