Clinton White House Worried About GOP Opposition to Sotomayor
After President Bill Clinton nominated Sonia Sotomayor to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, administration officials noted that her legal work and writings could spur strong Republican opposition if she were ever nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court.
