Kristen Stewart opens up about love for the first time since her breakup with boyfriend Robert Pattinson in a new cover story interview with Marie Claire magazine. The former Bella Swan of ‘The Twilight Saga’ speaks about her life as it is now.
The 23-year-old Kristen Stewart has spend years in the spotlight as she was with her ‘Twilight Saga’ costar Robert Pattinson, a spotlight which became merciless when the news of her affair with ‘Snow White and The Huntsman’ director, Rupert Sanders — who was married to model and actress Liberty Ross — hit the tabloids, thanks to paparazzi photos of the pair kissing. It ended her relationship with Pattinson — temporarily and then for good nearly a year later. It also left her in public apology mode and in hope of redemption as the final movie of the franchise that launched her career was about to premiere.
In a new interview with Marie Clare magazine, March issue — a cover story succinctly titled ‘Kristen Stewart on Risk, Romance and Having No Regrets’ — she spoke about the aftermath of that relationship and that affair, albeit obliquely. When asked to reflect upon any regrets she might have, she said, “I stand by every mistake I’ve ever made, so judge away.”
She went on to say, “You don’t know who you will fall in love with. You just don’t. You don’t control it. Some people have certain things, like, ‘That’s what I’m going for,’ and I have a subjective version of that. I don’t pressure myself… if you fall in love with someone, you want to own them – but really why would you want that. You want them to be what you love.”
Those days do seem like they were long ago. Now Kristen Stewart is moving on in her life, personally — now single though always rumored to be with some man or other or even getting back together with Pattinson — as well as professionally, as the star of the Guantanamo Bay drama ‘Camp X-Ray’ as well as ‘Clouds of Sils Maria.’
But as for a future relationship, she had nothing to say of it other than to muse, “I mean, at this point, I can’t even tell you if I want to hang out on Saturday.” Asked about how she envisions her future and whether she might ever have children with someone, she said, “I had it too good, to not have that, too. If I were to put money on it, definitely, yeah. But you earn that, like, that’s so not here yet.”
