It is Soap Dish time again and this week I am dishing all about the fabulous news that Maruice Benard is staying on General Hospital!
Maurice shared the news with fans via Twitter that he will continue to play the character of Sonny Corinthos. This is the message he sent to fans a couple of days ago. “I just signed my contract for General Hospital. It makes me feel good that I am not leaving my family.” I tell you what Maurice it maks me as a fan feel good that you will still be with the show. I can’t imagine GH without Sonny, who would everyone hate and try to pin all the crimes on. Plus the storyline with A.J. is heating up and as usual Benard is bringing his A-game.
I have been a fan of Maurices for years. Although he came onto the GH canvas during a time when I didn’t watch the show, I took a little hiatus, it was actually because of him that I started to tune in again. I was watching an interview with Vanessa Marcil and the way she talked about Benard and his talent was really moving. I wanted to see what all the hype about him was, so I tuned back in and I was hooked. I think he is a superb actor and I just love the way he plays the character. He has chemistry with everyone from the guys to the ladies. When he is in a scene you know it is going to be freaking killer. I seriously can’t say enough good things about him.
The news that Maurice Benard is going to be sticking around Port Charles is sweet! After all GH just lost Steve Burton and Jason Morgan. I couldn’t have imagined what would have happened to the beloved show if Maurice left, just sain.That is it for this weeks edition of Soap Dish be sure to check back next week to see what I am dishing about.
