Rita Ora Cast in ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ as Christian Grey’s Sister Mia

Rita Ora has been cast in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie as Mia, the adopted sister of Christian Grey, who is portrayed by Jamie Dornan.




The 23-year-old British singer-songwriter and actress Rita Ora is the latest cast member to be announced for the highly anticipated screen adaptation of the erotic E L James novel, which is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson. The character Mia Grey, whom Ora will portray, is Christian Grey’s adopted younger sister.

Hollywood Reporter was first to break the story. Later, Rita Ora herself took to Twitter to share her excitement. She Tweeted: “It’s official! I’ve been cast in @FiftyShades of Grey as Christian’s sister Mia. #FiftyShades.”

The announcement of her casting comes just as shooting of the movie began in Vancouver, BC, Canada where the two principal actors were spotted on location and photographed. This gave fans the first glimpse of the 31-year-old former ‘Once Upon Time’ star Jamie Dornan as the billionaire tycoon Christian Grey (who replaced ‘Sons of Anarchy’ actor Charlie Hunnam) and the 24-year-old actress Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele the college student whom he romances, seduces and ushers into the world of S&M bondage and dominance.

As for Rita Ora’s biography details, she is currently signed with Jay Z’s Roc Nation label. Her major-label debut studio album,’ORA,’ was released in the U.K. to critical acclaim. Her sophomore album is forthcoming. She first rose to prominence with her breakout hit ‘Hot Right Now.’ As for her screen credit she had a cameo role in ‘Fast & Furious 6′ and previously appeared in the British film, ‘Spivs.’ Also known for her luminous blonde beauty, she was recently she was named the face of Madonna’s Material Girl Collection fashion line.

Rounding out the main cast are Eloise Mumford as Kate, Anastasia’s best friend and roommate; Luke Grimes as Elliot Grey, brother of Christian Grey; Victor Rasuk as Jose; Jennifer Ehle as Carla and Max Martini as Jason.

The movie will open in theaters on February 13, 2015, leaving fans feverishly waiting until the day before Valentine’s Day. It’s several months after its initial August 1, 2014 release, due to Charlie Hunnam’s departure.
