NBA basketball legend Michael Jordan and his wife, Yvette Prieto, are expecting their first child together. The couple were married earlier this year in a famously extravagant wedding in Florida attended by numerous celebrities.
US Weekly confirmed the report from Terezowens.com that the 50-year-old Michael Jordan’s wife, 34-year-old Cuban-American model Yvette Prieto, is pregnant.
People magazine quotes an unnamed source who said of the couple: “They’ve been planning for months and months. He wanted to give Yvette everything she’s ever wanted.”
It rings true, as the couple married seven months ago, after having dated for several years, in a widely-reported and lavish wedding which was speculated to have cost $10 million dollars. It took place in Palm Beach at at Episcopal Church of Bethesda-By-The Sea Church. The bride wore a J’Aton couture wedding dress with Swarovski crystals. The couple said their vows before several hundred guests including Patrick Ewing, Tiger Woods, and Spike Lee, among others. Usher, Robin Thicke and K’Jon were performers at the reception which was held at the Bear’s Club in Jupiter, Florida. The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Greece.
Michael Jordan was previously married to Juanita Venoy for 17 years. In 2006 the couple’s divorce was finalized with a settlement estimated to be in excess of $150 million paid to Venoy which remains one of the largest celebrity divorce settlements in history. They had three children together during their years together; two sons — Jeffrey Michael, 24, and Marcus James, 22, — and one daughter Jasmine, 19.
It’s without doubt that the pregnancy of Yvette Prieto and the ultimate birth of the child will be closely watched as the young model becomes a first-time mother and Michael Jordan embraces fatherhood for the fourth time.
