Justin Bieber Releases “Heartbreaker,” New Song for Music Mondays

Justin Bieber released “Heartbreaker,” the first song in his “Music Mondays” campaign of 10 weeks of new song releases. Listen to the teen pop music superstar’s emotionally intense ballad of heartache.

After months of behavior that has kept him in the headlines — from his frequent incidents of speeding and other reckless driving to his cursing former President Bill Clinton to being carried up to the Great Wall of China — the 19-year-old Justin Bibeber returned to music, releasing his first installment, “Heartbreaker,” of his planned 10-week long #MusicMondays campaign, which leads up to the Christmas time release of the forthcoming 3D concert film, “Believe,” documenting his tour of that same title.

The ballad is easily his most emotionally and vocally mature song to date even as it is a reminder that it was sheer talent that led to his worldwide fame, from his early days growing up in small town Ontario, with YouTube videos documenting his early-teen musical evolution, that led to his eventually becoming a signed artist and protege of the multi-Grammy winning superstar, Usher.

Justin Bieber, with a single song, reminds us that he is more than the sum of recent bad behavior. It aches with such lines as “….So what I’m really trying to say is, and what I hope you understand / Is despite of all the imperfections of who I am I still wanna be your man / I know it hasn’t been easy for us to talk with everyone being around…”

He Tweeted (@Justin Bieber) about the song, which was already trending worldwide on Twitter and topping iTune charts in various countries around the world:

“It’s a song for people going through a heartbreak – like I was when I wrote it. It means so much to me to share what I was, and still am going through, with my fans. I’m very proud of this song and I hope it gives me fans some insight into my heart.”

He seemed to confirm anticipated speculation and rumors as to whether or not the “Heartbreaker” lyrics spoke of any personal experiences, notably his breakup with former girlfriend Selena Gomez, the former Disney actress whose own music career has been on an ascendancy since the release of her new album, ‘Stars Dance,’ which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Justin Bieber, who has been riding the success of his internationally multi-platinum selling “Believe” album and aforementioned world tour of the same title, and teen idol status, gives us a glimpse of the future adult music artist with the new song. Along with runaway sales on iTunes, it has garnered positive reactions on Twitter as well as from critics. Listen to “Heartbreaker” below.
