Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj are buddies. In fact, some think they have been more than buddies in the past. But if you take Nicki’s word for it, Wayne was nothing but the ideal gentleman while filming a racy new video that features both performers getting up close and personal with each other.
After watching the video, though, it’s kind of hard to believe.
If I understand it properly, it seems like he is cutting some kind of deal with Nicki’s boyfriend in the video. He is getting a little antsy after meeting her because he is obviously attracted to her. He is watching her nervously while she walks around the house.
In between, it sort of cuts to scenes of Nicki in a hot tub, and Wayne and Nicki, um… well, you know.
In those scenes it seems like he is getting a little closer than friends, but Nicki insists that he was polite. She even claims they never even kissed for the video:
“Wayne said we had to kiss for the video. He was like, one thing that’s going to sell it is if we really kiss. I’m like, ehh…”
She continued:
“Not only is he my boss, but he’s also like my brother.”
“It’s very weird because I’m just used to Wayne making fun of me, and all of Young Money boys making fun of me, so every time they yelled ‘Cut!’ I was just being picked on…”
As for the scenes where they actually do touch, she says that it was only when she verbally agreed to it:
“He refused to touch me, he’s so respectful.”
I am happy to hear he has some class. But I think it’s a little strange that they are coming out with this. Normally in these videos, the performers try to make it seem realistic, but here they are telling everyone the details.
