Advocates called ‘critical partner’ by UN

The Advocates was recognized as a “critical partner” by the United Nations in the UN’s work to end violence against women in an address before the 57th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) earlier this month at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The session was held during International Women’s Week.

CSW is the principal global policy-making body dedicated to gender equality and the advancement of women.

The Advocates’ Executive Director Robin Phillips, Director of Womens’ Human Rights Cheryl Thomas, Staff Attorney Helen Rubenstein, and Board Members Carolyn Chalmers and Ellen Sampson participated in the session and met with global partners.
