3 names announced for vacancy in the 7th

Gov. Mark Dayton

The Commission on Judicial Selection recommended three candidates today to Gov. Mark Dayton to fill the vacancy in Minnesota’s 7th Judicial District.

Judge James W. Hoolihan is retiring. The seat will be chambered at Foley in Benton County.

Todd Kosovich is an Assistant Morrison County Attorney, prosecuting all felony cases. Kosovich previously served as an Assistant Watonwan County Attorney where he was responsible for all adult criminal cases at petty misdemeanor, misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor level offenses.

Robert Raupp is the Benton County Attorney, where he represents the state in felony prosecutions and provides legal advice to the County Board of Commissioners. He previously worked in the Benton County Attorney’s Office and, prior to that in the Minneapolis City Attorney’s Office.

Shan Wang is the Assistant Chief of the Criminal Division in the Stearns County Attorney’s Office, where he supervises the adult criminal prosecution division. He previously was an Assistant Stearns County Attorney and, prior to that, worked as a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Regina M. Chu. Wang is the President of the Stearns-Benton Bar Association and the Vice-President of the John E. Simonett American Inn of Court.

The 7th Judicial District consists of Becker, Benton, Clay, Douglas, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Otter Tail, Stearns, Todd, and Wadena counties.
