Robin Williams’ ‘Merry Friggin’ Christmas,’ one of His Last Movies: First Look (Video)

At the time of his death, Robin Williams left behind four released movies. ‘Merry Friggin’ Christmas’ is among them. A teaser clip has been released revealing the first look at the legendary actor and comedian alongside his costars who include Lauren Graham, Joel McHale and Wendi McLendon-Covey.

Robin Williams has left behind a decades-long legacy stretching back to the 1970s and the ‘Mork and Mindy’ sitcom which first brought him fame. Along the way he appeared in numerous iconic movies including ‘Mrs. Doubtfire,’ ‘Good Morning Vietnam,’ Dead Poet’s Society’ and ‘Good Will Hunting,’ just to name a few.

Now we have sadly come to the end of his filmography with just four unseen movies. Along with ‘Merry Friggin Christmas,’ he will also be seen in the latest installment of the ‘Night At The Museum’ franchise, reprising his role as President Theodore Roosevelt. He will also appear in ‘Boulevard,’ a drama, as well as the comedy ‘Absolutely Anything.’

‘Merry Friggin’ Christmas’ was directed by Tristram Shapeero and written by Phil Johnston. Robin Williams portrays Mitch, the eccentric patriarch of a family at odds who are spending Christmas together; Joel McHale portrays his son, Boyd, with Lauren Graham portraying the wife, and child actor Pierce Gagnon their son. Additional costars include Ryan Lee, Candice Bergen, and Wendi McLendon-Covey among others.

In the brief clip, Robin Williams’ Mitch is seen at the dinner table with the family as his son finds out the hard way that his father has served squirrel for the meal; that is, he finds shotgun pellets in his plate. And a few other oddities are revealed.

As is always the case in these circumstances, the teaser scenes — and perhaps the movie itself — leave the viewer eager to see more. While it may or may not be another iconic role for the comedic great, for now and forever it’s just a part of the very small as-yet unseen filmography that we now are left with.

The movie opens in theaters on November 7th.
