Hoping to kick off the beginning of a successful movie franchise, the first clip from "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" hit the web on Tuesday (August 6).
Based on the best-selling novel series, the film tells the story of a teenage girl whose mom is taken from their home in NYC by a demon. Her life is forever changed as she finds out truths about her past and bloodline in the process of getting her back.
Directed by Harald Zwart, the adventure flick stars Lena Headey, Lily Collins, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Jamie Campbell Bower, Kevin Zegers, and Kevin Durand.
Check out the clip below, introduced by Lily and Jamie from this year's Comic-Con as the 24-year-old actress's character, Clary, struggles with her identity as her mother battles an evil intruder.
