Snoop plans to write, produce, and record a fresh new theme song for One Life to Live, a daytime soap opera older than the rapper himself!
Even weirder, he's playing himself in a string of upcoming episodes for the OLTL web series!
Whoa!! We knew the Sexual Eruption singer turned over a new leaf when he traded in his Dee Oh Double-Gee for a lion, but this is straight cray!!!
Snoop will record the song with 23-year-old beauty Iza Lach and producers hope their catchy ditty will bring back old fans as well as entice new ones!!
ABC cancelled the 43-year-old soap opera last year, but the rights were acquired by Prospect Park/The Online Network and a web-based reboot is already in the works.
Prospect Park CEO Jeff Kwatinetz is excited by the unconventional partnership; he admitted:
“We’re thrilled to have the support of such an iconic artist, like Snoop Lion. To have him write and produce the theme song for this series and to have the amazingly talented Iza Lach on board, is just incredible. We are extremely grateful and excited for fans to hear the new theme song and of course catch Snoop Lion in upcoming episodes."
Calling in the Dogg Pound is a bold move, we agree!
The OLTL revival already had our attention, now it has our curiosity!!
New episodes air on iTunes and Hulu beginning April 29!
