Janeane Garofalo & Robert Cohen’s Joke Marriage Was Real!

Actress/comedienne Janeane Garofalo was shocked to discover that her drive-thru Las Vegas wedding in the 1990s to writer Robert Cohen was the real deal!

Janeane tied the knot with “The Big Bang Theory” producer Robert Cohen at the Vegas chapel for fun, never realizing the 20-year marriage was real until recently.

Garafalo and Cohen only realized they had truly been married for all these years when Cohen began planning for his wedding with his fiance.

The shocked couple’s divorce was finalized on Saturday, just before they got together at the New York Comedy Festival for their reunion with “The Ben Stiller Show”.

Janeane Garofalo told the New York gossip column Page Six, “Rob and I got married, for real, which we had to have a notary dissolve (a dissolution of marriage) not 30 minutes before we got here tonight. We were married for 20 years until this evening… We got married drunk in Vegas… We dated for a year, and we got married at a drive-through chapel in a cab.

“(We thought) you have to go down to the courthouse and sign papers and stuff, so who knew? We were married, and apparently now that (Rob) is getting married for real, his lawyer dug up something.”

Robert Cohen is a Canadian comedy writer that has written for “The Simpsons”, “The Wonder Years”, “The Ben Stiller Show”, “American Dad”, and is currently the co-executive producer of “The Big Bang Theory”.

Cohen is engaged to Jill Leiderman, a producer on Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show.
