Gov. Mark Dayton announced a vacancy is occurring on the Minnesota Tax Court. This vacancy is created upon the resignation of the Honorable Sheryl A. Ramstad. Dayton is asking for applicants to serve as one of three judges on the Minnesota Tax Court. Earlier this month, Dayton announced a vacancy created upon the resignation of the Honorable Kathleen H. Sanberg.
The Minnesota Tax Court is an executive branch court established by the Minnesota Legislature to hear and consider tax-related cases. Individuals must be citizens of the state of Minnesota and must possess experience with and knowledge of taxation and tax laws. Judges are appointed to serve six-year terms.
Those interested in serving should submit an “Open Appointments” application along with a letter of interest and a resume for consideration to the Court. Application forms can be found on the Secretary of State’s website.
