Natina Reed Dead After Being Hit By Car

Natina Reed, who found stardom as an R&B singer in the 90s was struck by a car and killed in Atlanta this weekend at just 32-years-old.

Normally celebrity deaths come to us with scandalous background stories–drugs, DUI, and sometimes even murder. But in this case, Reed was simply hit by a car.

So what happened? Well, it seems that

The driver won’t be charged, and was actually the person who called 911. From the looks of this one, it sounds like she somehow got in the way, either by crossing the street without looking, or for some other reason.

The investigation is still underway, but again, the driver has so far been found to NOT be a fault. That leads me to believe that she could have even been jaywalking. It’s so very sad.

You may also recognize her from the movie Bring It On, where she played a cheerleader. Sadly, she leaves a ten year old son behind, and a husband, who is actually a well known rapper named Kurupt.

I guess we will have to wait for more information to be released before we can piece together how she managed to get hit. If it was anywhere near an intersection there may actually be video out there. Now that would be morbid but at least it would shed light on what happened.

The accident happened on Lawrencevill Highway near the intersection of Hamilton road in Gwinnett, Georgia. On the map, Gwinnett is just Northeast of Atlanta.

The local police department reports that she was pronounced dead at a hospital around 29 minutes after she was struck.

Courts affected by storm

Sandy has put a crimp in Virginia’s Judicial System. The  administrative offices of the Supreme Court of Virginia are closed today, “due to inclement weather.” Virginia State Bar offices also are closed.

However, the Virginia State Bar Admission Ceremony will take place as scheduled, the court reports in a note on its website. “Essential personnel required to support this event should report as planned,” the court said.

The Admission and Orientation ceremony is scheduled today at the Richmond Convention Center. A First Day in Practice seminar is set for Tuesday.

Gov. Bob McDonnell has closed state executive branch offices, according to a published report. He reportedly copied his order to judicial, legislative and independent agencies.

Federal courts are affected as well. U.S. District Court and the Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia have posted closure notices on their websites, according to an email from the U.S. Courts system.

“Jurors, litigants, lawyers, and others should check their local court’s website for closure details or use the court locator to find court websites,” the message says.

UPDATE 11:40 A.M., 10-29-12: The First Day in Practice Seminar scheduled for Tuesday, October 30, has been canceled, according to an announcement on the Virginia State Bar website. The message says a new date will be announced at vsb.org.

Madonna BOOED For Endorsing Barack Obama At New Orleans Concert

At least she didn't take another tumble. Ha!

Madonna, the queen of our heart, upset some fans at a New Orleans concert on Saturday night when she endorsed Barack Obama for re-election.

In between songs, Madge asked the audience, "Who's registered to vote?" She then used her platform to declare:

"I don't care who you vote for as long as you vote for Obama."

The southern crowd didn't take too kindly to her advice and actually started BOOING her!

After realizing the crowd was not as liberal as she thought, she quickly added:

"Seriously, I don't care who you vote for. Do not take this privilege for granted. Go vote."

Now there is a message that EVERYONE should applaud. We're just a few weeks away from election day, so make sure that your voice is heard on Tuesday, November 6!

Judge allows trademark infringement suit against Google to go forward

A federal district judge in California has rejected a motion to dismiss in a trademark infringement suit against Google. The complaint, brought by CYBERsitter, a company that makes a program that filters content on the Internet, alleges Google and a rival company used "a bait and switch strategy to confuse consumers into purchasing a competing product."

Mila Kunis Knocked Up By Ashton Kutcher?

Mila Kunis is causing quite a buzz on the internet after she was spotted out on Saturday on a stroll with boyfriend Ashton Kutcher, appearing to be sporting a baby bump!

Mila, 29, and Ashton, who stars on the television show “Two and a Half Men”, is estranged from wife Demi Moore but has not yet divorced after the former couple was unable to come to a financial settlement.

Kunis, who is known for her role on “Black Swan”, definitely had a larger stomach area lately, even though the petite actress recently put on a bit of weight.

Ashton and Mila have been in the headlines after they finally went public with their relationship in September, after denying they were more than friends for quite some time.

Mila has previously spoken of her desire to have a baby, telling Glamour magazine recently, “I do want a family. I’d rather be in love and have a baby than a movie.”

In August, a friend of Ashton Kutcher’s told Star Magazine that he’s ready to have a child.

The source close to the actor revealed, “Ashton feels his biological clock ticking – he’s wanted kids for years but he and Demi Moore didn’t have luck conceiving, most likely because of her age.

“And he’s on a campaign to get Mila to agree to be a mom, he’s reminded her that he’s had plenty of father practice with Demi’s three daughters.”

Ashton and Mila Kunis have been glued at the hip lately, with some sources saying they practically live together these days.

Lena Dunham Stars In Suggestive Obama Ad (Video)

“Girls” creator and star Lena Dunham has made a sexually suggestive ad for President Obama’s political campaign about her first time…voting.

The odd campaign add begins with the actress saying, “The first time shouldn’t be with just anybody. You want to do it with a great guy. Someone who really cares about and understands women.”

Dunham portrays Obama as the man who took her voting virginity in the ad aimed that’s obviously aimed at young women.

She states that the “first time” should be with “a guy who cares whether you get health insurance and specifically whether you get birth control. The consequences are huge.”

The actress then reveals she is talking about politics and not about losing her actual virginity.

Lena adds, “You want to do it with a guy who brought the troops out of Iraq. You don’t want a guy who says, ‘Oh hey, I’m at the library studying,’ when really he’s out not signing the Lilly Ledbetter act.

“Or thinks that gay people should never have beautiful, complicated weddings like the kind we see on Bravo or TLC all the time.”

Lena Dunham adds, “My first time voting was amazing. It was this line in the sand — before I was a girl, now I was a woman.”

The ad has stirred up controversy, with conservatives branding the ad “tasteless”.

Conservative commentator Monica Crowley writes, “(One) of the many sick things about this degrading Lena Dunham ‘lose your virginity to Barack’ ad? The Left thinks it’s ‘empowering’ to women.”

“How could a president with two young, blossoming daughters release an ad as disgusting as this?” asked John Nolte of the conservative Breitbart News site.
